WORLD POPULATION DAY
11 July 2020
World Population Day, established in 1989, is a day to focus attention on the urgency and importance of population issues, such as the importance of family planning, gender equality, poverty, maternal health and human rights.

WORLD DAY AGAINST TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS
30 July 2020
In 2013, Member States adopted resolution A/RES/68/192 and designated July 30 as the World Day against Trafficking in Persons.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF FRIENDSHIP

The International Day of Friendship was proclaimed in 2011 by the UN General Assembly with the idea that friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL CHILD

On December 19, 2011, the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 66/170 to declare 11 October as the International Day of the Girl Child, to recognize girls’ rights and the unique challenges girls face around the world.

16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM AGAINST GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE

During the 16 Days of Activism, all Zonta clubs and districts are encouraged to take part in the Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women campaign.

INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ELIMINATION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN
25 November 2020
In 1999, the United Nations General Assembly designated 25 November as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and invited governments, international organizations and NGOs to organize activities designed to raise public awareness of the problem on that day.
