Formal Organization of Women in Barangay Alang-Alang

Nineteen women coming from the 10 sitios of Barangay Alang-Alang came together to formally organize themselves into a “Women’s Group”.  The organization procedure was so interesting and lively as it was ably conducted by Zontian Odette Jereza who is an expert in this field.  There were 19 women present and all of them participated actively through the unique organizing procedure of Odette. The women were able to discover themselves, express their innate womanly qualities, express their hidden desires and envision their dreams.  These dreams are not only for themselves but for their families as well and also for their respective communities or sitios and eventually for the whole Barangay.

With the initiative of everybody, very good ideas came up and taken from themselves only.  Finally they were able to formulate their own group name: Barangay Alang-Alang Kapunongan sa Kababain-an alang sa Kaugmaon sa Katilingban (Barangay Alang-Alang 4K).

They then elected their core group consisting of five (5) women leaders.
