held at THE WOMEN’S CHILD AND FRIENDLY CENTER (WCFC) / PINK CENTER to celebrate INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY at 2:00 pm,  March 8, 2013

The theme of the Interactive talk was “Looking Good, Feeling Good- Need not be Expensive.” The participants were the GAD-FOCALS of the different City Barangays who frequently recommend patients to the WCFC Center. There were about 28 participants who were present.

Zontians Dra. Asuncion “Chona” Tremedal–(Moderator-Facilitator), Zn. Elena Young, Zn. Dra. Debbie Limchiu and Zn. Terry Manguerra were in attendance to keep the interaction flowing smoothly. Pink Center’s Dra. Consuelo Malaga was the consummate Moderator-Facilitator. Two Psychologists from the Center and Eva Gascon of the Zonta Foundation II office, were also present.

Zontian Elena Young initially gave the introduction on why Zonta celebrates International Womens Day. She also invited the participants to join the other activities for Womens month especially the “I Am Woman” exhibit at the Ayala Mall Center and Zonta Cebu II’s Dangoyngoy sa Kahilum forum (3rd of a series ) “ at the Marcelo Fernan Press Center Center on March 16.

Since the discussion was free flowing, it started with Miss Paz Turlao opening the discussion by telling the participants of her simple way of keeping her complexion clean and flawless as well as her attitude towards life which keeps her young looking. Dra. Malaga continued the discussion by emphasizing that health and beauty should exist not only on the outside but also in the inside of our body. Having a good and satisfying intimate life with one’s partner is part of beauty. Dra. Chona Tremedal, being an obstetrician-gynecologist gave a lot of information on taking care of a woman’s body and having a satisfying marital sex life. Since there was no lecture on any specific topic, everyone participated and gave their opinion on what they thought made a person look good, feel good and beautiful.

The discussion was very lively and the participants said that they would like more of the free flowing discussions especially with the presence of Doctors who gave free medical advice. The symposium ended with a delicious snack and greetings to the Pink Center since it was also celebrating its Anniversary. There were also toiletry giveaways from Zontian Elena Young to all the participants.
