Zontians Cebu II members, filled with the holiday spirit, set one day aside and trooped to the three Day Care Centers (in different locations) that the Club has been supporting – one of them since 1982.
It was heartwarming to hear that the preschoolers who were with us have since graduated from college and are now professionals – teachers, nurses and doctors. More heartening to see that Teacher An, handling the Brgy. Casuntingan Day Care Center, herself was once enrolled as a toddler of said center.
213 knapsacks bearing the Zonta logo were distributed to smiling, appreciative toddlers who were happy to find biscuits, school supplies, water container, and towelettes inside their colorful knapsacks.
In exchange, they prepared hand -made Santa Claus figurines for us; each one rendered and crafted in a different shape and appearance. We really appreciated the time and effort that went into each work of art. A short program followed with serenaded songs and GangNam dance presentations.
Handmade Christmas cards with the toddlers’ scribbles were also presented. It was indeed a day of dance, songs, food, games and camaraderie!
