Biennium 2018-2020 Garnered Several Awards

The ZONTA Club of Cebu II, with Marilou R. Canizares at the helm for the Biennium 2018-2020, garnered several District 17 Governor’s Awards at the most recent ZONTA District 17 Conference in Hongkong held on September 13 to 15, 2019.

It is noteworthy that the Zonta Club of Cebu II is one of the 80 clubs of ZONTA International’s District 17 and one of 11 clubs o fArea 3 in the Visayas and Mindanao. District 17 is composed of 6 Areas covering 4 in the Philippines: Areas(1 3, 4 and 5); Area 2 consisting of clubs in Hongkong, Macau, Singapore and Malaysia and Area 6 composed of all clubs in Thailand. District 17 with about 2500 members at present.

These were the Awards given to the ZONTA Club of Cebu II:

• Centennial Star Club in Excellence Achievement Award -Diamond (Highest ) Award along with 5 clubs in District 17 ( Hongkong, Bangkok V, Greater Rizal II, Ilocos Norte and Las Pinas)
• Centennial Leadership Development Award – Top 10
• Centennial Anniversary-Honour 100 years of Zonta Award for “100 books for 100 families and Giant Tarp in Ayala” -Top 11
• Best Centennial Advocacy Award for “16 Days of Activism” – Top 10
• Best Centennial Local Service Projects Award for “ Breakthrough: Behind the Cells – Top 12
