In line with the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW), the Zonta Club of Cebu II, in cooperation with the City of Mandaue, is proud to officially announce a photo contest. The contest theme “Musings on Women” is a showcase of the project “Abay sa Kahayag”, intended to pay homage to women from all walks of life.
The photo contest is open to all photographers, professional or amateur, residents in the Province of Cebu.
To join the competition, photographers are to submit greyscale or black and white photos of Filipino women in any aspect or field they are engaged in. Entries must be related to the theme, featuring women in various roles that they play in society.
Photos must have been taken between the years 2016 and 2018. The entry number, title of entry, date shot and location must be neatly written or encoded at the back of the photo on the upper left hand corner. (Entry numbers are found on the Registration Form assigned to each photo entry). Entry forms are available at the City Treasurer’s Office of Mandaue City or can be downloaded from the City Treasurer’s Office Facebook page.
There is no limit to the number of photo entries that a contestant may submit. Entries shall be printed copy, matte finish at 300 dpi, eight inches by eleven inches (8″ x 11”), without borders.
Minor digital editing of photo entries is allowable, including burning, dodging, color correction, levels (brightness and contrast), black and white and cropping. Oversaturated images shall be disqualified.
Each contestant shall provide a soft copy (electronic file) of the JPEG and the raw file(s) in a DVD/CD/USB which shall be labelled clearly with the Entry Number and the Contestant’s name using the following convention for naming the files: * *

Printed entry/entries, Entry Form(s), and DVD/CD/USB must be placed in a long brown envelope and must be submitted on or before Monday, November 12 at 5 p.m. to Atty Regal M Oliva at the Office of the City Treasurer, Ground Floor, City Hall, Mandaue City.
Judging of entries to select the finalists will be on Thursday, November 15. Entries will be judged according to Visual Impact —- 30%, Technical Quality —- 30%, Creativity —-20%, and Relevance to the theme —- 20%.
The top 25 finalists will be picked from among the entries and will be shown at a photo exhibit at the main activity center in Ayala Center Cebu from November 24 to 26; and at 2nd level of the mall’s new wing from November 27 to December 2. Exhibit goers may cast a ballot in the People’s Choice, an adjunct category to the official criteria of the contest. Or vote in the fb page of Zonta Club Cebu II.
Winners will be announced on Dec. 10 during the Awarding ceremony that will be held at the Grand Ballroom of Bai Hotel in Mandaue City. Big cash prizes await the top 3 winners.
