Gasa sa Gugma Project

June 2020:  Zonta Club of Cebu II members, with the capable leadership of biennium 2020-2022 President Elena C. Young, decided that in spite of the curtailed movement and socialization of people in the city, the club must deliver its prepared donations to Gasa sa Gugma.

The club members have appreciated how Gasa sa Gugma has been kept well-sanitized  and very clean by the compassionate nuns of the community of the Sisters of Charity of Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Thus group leader Zn. Evelyn Ramas found a way to have housecleaning items, disinfectants, laundry detergents and diapers brought to Gasa.  Zn. Jennifer B. Go sent her personal donation of two new wheelchairs that will definitely help the disabled residents attain more mobility within the facility.

For the past 12 years, small groups of members have made quarterly visits to Gasa sa Gugma, to provide haircut services to the elderly residents of the facility.  For this particular visit in June,  the residents had to miss the haircut session, because the barbers, like everyone else had to stay home.

These quarterly activities of Zonta Cebu II members are ably organized and directed by Zontians Mariter D. Klepp and Evelyn Ramas.
