WOMEN AT THE CORE OF THE PANDEMIC: Celebrating their Resilience and Strength A NATIONWIDE PHOTO COMPETITION

The Zonta Club of Cebu II in the Philippines recently organized a nationwide photo competition centered around the theme, “Women at the Core of the Pandemic: Celebrating their resilience and strength.” The competition welcomed submissions from photographers of all skill levels across the Philippines, aiming to showcase the innovative ways women navigated and tackled the challenges brought by COVID-19 on personal and professional fronts.

A panel of judges, comprising esteemed photographers and women advocates, meticulously reviewed nearly 150 entries, evaluating them based on criteria such as originality, thematic consistency, technical prowess, and artistic excellence.

Following the judging process, the top 30 entries were showcased on Facebook, inviting the public to vote for their favorite photo for the prestigious People’s Choice Award. Roberto Ladres, Jr., whose photograph titled “2-in-1” resonated with viewers, clinched the People’s Choice Award along with the first runner-up title.

The coveted winning title was bestowed upon Dionisio Salvador for his entry “Pag-aarugang Walang Kapantay,” translating to “unparalleled care” in Tagalog. Klienne Eco secured the position of second runner-up with her captivating photo titled “Mi Amore.”

Additionally, Danilo Victoriano, Jr. swept both consolation prizes with his entries “One Step Backward, Two Steps Forward” and “Drawing Therapy,” while Kevin Lester Martinez claimed the Early Bird Prize for his heartwarming entry, “The Smile of Resilience.”
