On September 6, 2024, the Zonta Club of Cebu II celebrated the successful launch of its cherished Alimbukad project at Cabancalan 1 Elementary School. Now in its tenth year, Alimbukad stands as a beacon of hope and inspiration, dedicated to encouraging parents to embrace the invaluable practice of reading to their children at home.
The initiative aims to cultivate a love for reading, enhance literacy skills, and strengthen the bond between parents and their children. By nurturing this practice, Alimbukad plants the seeds for a lifelong appreciation of books in young minds.
During the launch event, the Alimbukad warriors from Zonta Club of Cebu II warmly distributed bags filled with books and snacks to parents and welcomed 100 enthusiastic kindergarten students. This act of generosity reflects their unwavering commitment to education, one page at a time.
