BabaYay! Art, Advocacy, and the Many Faces of Womanhood Take Center Stage in Cebu

CEBU CITY — In celebration of International Women’s Month, art and advocacy came together through “BabaYay!: A Reflective Retrospective of Women in the Art of Paulina Constancia,” a meaningful exhibition that honors the strength, stories, and spirit of women.

Held from March 1 to 27, 2026 at the Cebu City Museum, the exhibit presents a heartfelt collection of works by renowned artist Paulina Constancia, reflecting on the many roles women embody—as daughters, lovers, mothers, caregivers, friends, and community builders.

The exhibition was presented in partnership with the Cebu City Museum and Zonta Club of Cebu II, reinforcing a shared mission to build a better world for women and girls through both creative expression and community engagement.

A highlight of the celebration was the Artist’s Reception, where members of Zonta Club of Cebu II gathered in full support, dressed in purple in honor of Women’s Month. The event became a vibrant display of solidarity, as attendees stood alongside the artist in celebrating the diverse journeys and identities of women.

Through both art and shared presence, the gathering paid tribute to the enduring spirit of womanhood—one defined by resilience, creativity, clarity, and quiet strength.

One of the featured works, “Love Thyself,” served as a powerful reminder that self-care is essential not only for personal well-being, but also in nurturing stronger communities.

More than an exhibition, BabaYay! is a celebration of connection—honoring the women who teach, guide, support, and journey with us through life’s many seasons.

The initiative stands as a testament to the power of art in amplifying voices, inspiring reflection, and strengthening the collective commitment to uplift women everywhere.
