MANDAUE CITY, Cebu — A meaningful initiative aimed at supporting women affected by Typhoon Tino took center stage as Zonta Club Cebu II conducted the “Bangon, Babaye: Coping Skills and Emotional Recovery Workshop.”
The workshop served as the core of the day’s activities, providing participants with a safe and supportive environment to begin their journey toward emotional healing and recovery.
Through a series of guided sessions, the women engaged in safety and relaxation techniques, shared personal stories and future aspirations, reflected on their experiences, and identified their own resilient attributes. These activities allowed participants to express themselves openly while reconnecting with their inner strength.
Organizers noted that while some stories shared during the sessions were difficult and deeply personal, others reflected hope and perseverance. Regardless of their nature, each story was recognized as equally important in the healing process.
The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Robby Echavez and his team from RBE Psychological Services, who led discussions and activities centered on emotional recovery, resilience-building, and moving forward after adversity.
According to the organizers, recovery extends beyond rebuilding physical structures and restoring livelihoods. It also involves rebuilding confidence, reclaiming one’s voice, and nurturing hope among those affected.
Through this initiative, Zonta Club Cebu II emphasized its commitment to empowering women and reinforcing the message that they are stronger than the challenges they have faced.
The organization continues to advocate for programs that support women’s well-being, particularly in times of crisis and recovery.
“Bangon, Babaye. Padayon.”
