Hope After the Storm: Restoring Smiles and Learning in Liloan

In the aftermath of the devastating flash floods caused by Typhoon Tino, on December 18, 2025, hope gently reached Tiltilon Elementary School in Cotcot, Liloan. On this day, the Zonta Club of Cebu II extended care and support to 252 young learners—most, if not all, deeply affected by the recent calamity—by distributing much-needed school supplies to help them take their first steps toward recovery.

Amid stories of loss and disruption, the bright smiles of the children served as a powerful reminder of why service truly matters. Each school kit held more than notebooks and pencils; it carried reassurance that these young learners are seen, valued, and never forgotten. The outreach was led by President Lucy Carcel, EVP Petite Garcia, Board Member Margie Sy, and Members Mary Rose Maghuyop and Mariter Klepp, whose presence brought comfort, encouragement, and renewed hope to the entire school community.

In moments like these, we are reminded that kindness helps restore dignity, and that education remains a vital bridge to healing and resilience—especially for our children, whose strength and courage light the way forward.
