Nurturing Young Minds: Zonta Club of Cebu 2’s ALIMBUKAD Session Ignites a Love for Reading at Guadalupe Elementary School

On October 17, 2024, the vibrant halls of Guadalupe Elementary School in Cebu City came alive as over 200 eager kindergarteners and their parents gathered for the much-anticipated ALIMBUKAD October session, organized by the Zonta Club of Cebu 2. This event, designed to promote the love of reading, fostered meaningful connections between parents and their children through engaging storytelling techniques and creative activities.

The day began with an interactive storytelling session, where parents learned how to captivate their children using gestures and vocal variations. Led by teachers and ALIMBUKAD Chair Zn Wi Suan Tiu, familiar stories transformed into dynamic experiences, sparking wonder and imagination in the young audience. Parents were encouraged to ask thought-provoking questions, promoting critical thinking in their children.

Music filled the air as families sang and danced, creating an infectious atmosphere of unity and celebration. A creative hat-making activity followed, allowing the children to showcase their imaginations, crafting colorful hats alongside their parents. This joyful, hands-on project strengthened bonds and created lasting memories.

More than just a fun-filled afternoon, this ALIMBUKAD session highlighted the importance of parental involvement in early childhood education. The Zonta Club of Cebu 2, under the leadership of President Lucy Carcel, continues to nurture young minds and strengthen family ties, proving that learning is a joyful, shared journey.
