On September 28, 2024, a Mangrove and Coastal Clean-Up was held in Jugan, Consolacion, Cebu, with the goal of removing trash and preserving mangroves to maintain ecological balance and mitigate climate change. The initiative brought together a dedicated group of volunteers, all committed to protecting the environment.
The enthusiastic Ladies of Zonta Club of Cebu II—sporting their bright orange tops, wide-brim hats, jeans, and rubber shoes—worked alongside high school students and Z Club members from Our Lady of Joy Learning Center, as well as representatives from the Local Government Unit of Consolacion and the Department of Agriculture.
This collaborative effort underscored the importance of community involvement in safeguarding natural resources, with the preservation of mangroves playing a key role in coastal protection and climate resilience. Together, the participants made a meaningful contribution to the environment, reinforcing the need for ongoing efforts to ensure a sustainable future for all.
