“No Lipstick for Mother,” A Stage Play on Gender Sensitivity

The Z Club of Childlink High School Cebu presented “No Lipstick for Mother”, a stage play production with the theme on gender sensitivity last February 21, 2015 at the University of San Carlos Cultural Center, Cebu City. This play was made possible with the support of the Zonta Club of Cebu II and was attended by over 500 friends and guests.

This play tells about how Maria, a housewife suddenly has to take the role of her husband, being the sole breadwinner of the family because of her husband’s sudden death. The teenage daughter of Maria found it difficult to accept the transition from her mom being the typical homemaker to becoming a tricycle driver, suddenly without lipstick. The play teaches us that male or female, we can each do the work of the other and still find our strength and individuality.
